Year 9 Business Enterprise

On Friday 3rd February, phase 3 (yr9) students were asked to meet in the Cotswolds hall. Students were then given the task of designing and making some merchandise to represent an Olympic country. Student spent the morning brainstorming products that they could make (Key rings, flags, mobile phone cases) and then making a prototype of their product. After students had finished inventing and designing their products they then had to device a ‘pitch’ to convince judges they were worthy of going through to the final.

After the first round of presentations 25 teams were cut down to 5 finalists who presented to the dragons den inspired judging panel (Mrs Gooch, Mr Giblin, Miss Skelding and Mrs Matthews). The finalists were put through intense questioning and then finally the Germany team were deemed to be the winners with a fantastic iPhone cover.

Throughout the day students demonstrated skills in creativity, teamwork and Olympic values. Well done year 9 – we look forward to seeing your inventions in a shop soon!
