Our Green Environment - Student's Article

We were warned by Mr McCarthy, to wear sensible footwear for our “Help the All Saints’ Academy Environment Project”, so most of us were well prepared for the task of planting trees in our Enrichment lesson recently.

We helped plant just eight of the hundreds of trees and shrubs that have helped landscape All Saints’ Academy’s grounds.

The trees are being planted as part of Skanska’s commitment to supporting the Green credentials of the Academy. The rest is up to us; we hope that the trees will be allowed to grow and flourish providing habitats for wildlife and nice shaded areas where future pupils can sit and relax outside.

Some of us really got stuck into the digging; while others were reporters. Our trees were all fruit trees; but we weren’t told which type of fruit; I guess we will have to wait and see!
